Q&A

(UPDATE:2000/2/2)

[NOTE: This is a translation of GRANTURISMO2-FAQ which discusses about Japanese version. Versions for other regions may have difference. Previous version.]

Q. How to convert the data of GT1 game.
A. In the title screen, choose "Communication" menu item, and then choose "Convert". Then choose the slot of the slot with GT1 game data. Refer to the manual (p. 8, 12). Note that it converts only the license data.

Q. In Arcade mode and 2-Player races, I can't run straight since the car wants to turn right (or left).
A. That is because the car has trouble (the tyre was bent) since you hit the wall or something. This damage setting is turned ON by default. You can change the Damage menu item to OFF in the Option menu. Save it in the memory card and use it so that you can play with that setting in next play.

Q. How to save game.
A. In GT mode, you can save in the title screen, after the race result, when you obtained a license, or after the name entry of best record in the machine test. In arcade mode, you need to go back to the title screen to save.

Q. I can't find some cars that I saw in books or magazines in past.
A. Due to licensing reason, CLK-GTR, DTM2000, and VW Polo are not available.

Q. Can't I obtain the cars that appears as rival car?
A. You can't obtain those rival-only cars such as Acura NSX.

Q. Course Record time in GT mode races are not updated.
A. They are displaying the Arcade Mode Time Attack result.

Q. About movie.
A. Opening and Ending movies are included in Arcade Mode. You can watch the opening movie if you leave the game after power up. To watch the ending movie, you have to satisfy a specific condition to choose the NEXT menu item in the Goodies menu.

Q. The horse-power ratings are different in shop and in garage after purchase.
A. Because they are listed horse-power and the calculated true horse-power for the game, respectively.

Q. Sometimes I can't save the replay data even though there's spare memory card block.
A. Replay data are not possible to be saved as much as the memory capacity, but rather, it is designed to be maximum of 32 replays. (Some of the manuals may have wrong description.) If you reserve 15 blocks, some blocks may be wasted. (e.g. if you save small capacity replay data, such as License Tests.)

Q. When is GT2000 going to be released?
A. It's under development now. The release date is not decided yet. Please look forward for it.
